We are the Dream
The year is 1968. In a classroom in the rural South, children prepare for a visit from civil rights leader the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Little do they know that by week’s end the heroic figure they have so admired will be gone forever.  Through the telling of Dr. King’s life, the children begin to understand how his dream lives in their very own hearts.  Students from Doby’s Mill Elementary will join professional actors from Columbia Children’s Theatre in this production featuring songs such as My Lord, What a Morning, Oh Happy Day, Free at Last, and We Shall Overcome. Don’t miss this truly exquisite telling of one of America’s greatest stories. Reinforces social studies standards.
