Well, now is your chance!
The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County will hold three (3) days of auditions for Kershaw County's Got Talent. Come on out and show us what you have!
The finale will take place on Saturday, March 24 at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.
2012 AUDITION DATES:
Monday, March 19, 2012: North Central High School Auditorium; 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 20, 2012: Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, Wood Auditorium; 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 21, 2012: Lugoff-Elgin High School Auditorium; 6:00 p.m.
Registration Fee: $10 per person; Group fee (more than 3 people): $25. Non-refundable.
Judges will rate performers and select finalists, and winner based on talent, stage presence, and entertainment value. There will only be one winner. The winner will receive a cash prize, and a gift basket including tickets to Fine Arts Center events.
All performances must be suitable for all ages.
NOTE TO PARENTS: Please make sure that the chosen material is age appropriate. Judges will have the right to disqualify any contestant for inappropriate material.
You must complete a registration form and pay the registration fee prior to your audition. Registration forms will be available at each audition site as well as the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, located at 810 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020. Rules and Regulations
- All registration forms must be accompanied by the non-refundable $10.00 individual or $25 (3 or more individuals) registration fee. No exceptions. Registration fees shall be paid by cash (for those registering in person only,) check or credit card (credit card available at the Fine Arts Center location only.) You may pre-register by mail (must be received by the Fine Arts Center at or before the audition date requested) or at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) box office located at 810 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020; or on-site at one of the audition locations listed above.
- All participants must be at least 6 (six) years of age. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the audition as well as the technical rehearsals and final performance.
- All participants must currently reside in Kershaw County.
- The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County reserves the right to deny participation to any participant at its discretion.
- All performances must be appropriate for general audiences. All lyrics, physical actions and costumes must be of appropriate family content. Inappropriate lyrics, behavior and costumes could result in the act being immediately stopped and may result in the cancellation of any and all performances by the group or individual. In such cases, fees are not refunded. PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: Performances by children 16 and under must be age appropriate. Please review song lyrics prior to choosing a song. Inappropriate song choice could result in a low score or disqualification.
- No animal acts shall be accepted.
- Musical accompaniment shall be allowed but must be provided by the performer. A piano will be made available AT THE FAC AUDITION ONLY. If you are accompanied during the audition, you must also be accompanied in the finale. If a CD is used for the audition, you must use the same CD in the finale. You will NOT be able to switch to live accompaniment for the finale. You must bring two (2) CDs for the audition, as well as the finale in case of technical difficulty. All CDs must be formatted as music CDs, NOT data CDs. Please test your CDs in a CD player prior to the audition to make sure it can be read.
- The FAC shall provide a basic sound system (boom box) for playing CDs during auditions.
- No additional sound system shall be provided during auditions. During the final performance, the participants shall have access to no more than 2 (two) microphones. Instruments (guitars, keyboards, etc., provided by the performer/participant) must have their own amplification systems, if required, and will not be patched into the FAC sound system.
- All participants shall receive an audition number at the audition site. If pre-registered, participants must check in at the Registration Table and pick up their number.
- Prior to their initial audition, all participants must commit to performing in the final competition scheduled for March 24, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, as well as attend at least one technical rehearsal to be set after the contestants have been selected.
- At each audition location at the end of the evenings auditions, the judges shall announce which participants shall move ahead to the final round on March 24. Those selected to be moved forward to the final round shall be posted the morning following each audition on the Fine Arts Center web site and on the front door of the Fine Arts Center. To avoid tying up the Fine Arts Center phone lines, the Center staff shall not provide this information to callers. There is no set number of people who shall move forward to the next round at any audition. The number of participants moving forward shall be at the judges' discretion. Judges shall rate performers and select finalists and a winner based on talent, stage presence, and entertainment value.
- The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County reserves the right to cancel any audition or performance due to compelling circumstances. Participants shall be notified of any cancellation or changes.
- By agreeing to the rules and regulations the participant(s) agree to be photographed and/or videotaped for publicity and archive purposes.
- This competition is not affiliated with any other competition, local, national or otherwise and is solely offered for entertainment purposes only.
