Call for Artists!

Bassett Gallery Call for Artists!

Applications are accepted each year from  January to early March. The deadline for submissions for the 2018-19 Gallery is March 2, 2018.

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) is seeking artists for its 2018-19 Bassett Gallery season. Selected artists will generally receive one entire gallery for a solo exhibit. The Bassett Gallery is located in the Bassett Building on the campus of the FAC located at 810 Lyttleton Street in Camden, South Carolina. The Bassett Gallery hosts several galleries each year for periods ranging from four to six weeks each. The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County is a 5-acre arts center in downtown Camden that contains a gallery, 284-seat theatre, classrooms, dance studio, music studio, visual art studio and a clay studio, along with outdoor entertainment space and other areas available for meeting spaces, parties and more.

The FAC will select work we think best reflects our marketing and exhibition goals. The FAC is a 501c3 arts organization funded through grants and donations.

Each gallery is advertised by the FAC through direct mail, as well as print and social media. The mailing list for direct mail pieces for gallery openings and exhibitions exceeds 750. The artist(s) are welcome to add additional names for the mailings and/or receive extra copies of the postcard, for their own general use.

An opening reception is held for each gallery either as a stand-alone event or as part of one of the FAC’s events. The FAC is responsible for the reception and promotional cost of each gallery.
