    You will receive a code from Anne Schultz to register for this introduction when you are approved for the Open Studio as there is no public registration access.

    10:00- 5:00 Monday-Friday when classes are not in progress

    This is an opportunity for experienced potters to hand build, wheel throw and glaze independently in our clay studio. A shelf space and cone 5-6 studio glazes are included. Oxidation firings are done approximately every 4-6 weeks. Participants must have their own tools, and clay must be purchased from the AC. Adults and Teens 16+; Maximum: 3

    Prerequisites:

    Completion of two or more recent clay classes at the AC and/or interview for admission

    Signed Open Studio Agreement

    Please Note: Open Studio is not set up for production potters, or individuals making pottery to sell on a regular basis. We are unable to offer firing services for pottery made off site.

Using pinch methods, coiling, slab rolling and various methods for decorating, you will create functional and decorative pottery. Introduction to the wheel is available. All experience levels welcome. All pottery created in this class is food safe. Clay must be purchased from the Art Center. Monday 6:30-8:30 PM. Limit 5 students

    Enjoy learning to create useful and decorative pottery using pinch, coil and slab methods, along with an introduction to the potter’s wheel. Students will glaze their pots which will be kiln fired at the end of the session. All skill levels welcome. Clay must be purchased from the Art Center.

The studio will be open for hand building, wheel throwing and glazing, with a little help if needed. Kiln firings occur approximately every 4-6 weeks. Participants must have their own pottery tools, and clay must be purchased from the AC.

    Adults/ Teens 16+ Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30

    Prerequisite: Completion of at least one clay class at the AC. Experienced potters with no AC class experience, please contact Anne Schultz by calling the Art Center office: 803) 425-7676.
