Students will have a hand in every technical aspect of producing a show on the mainstage at the Arts Center of Kershaw County, Based on student's interests and availability, students will be able to stage carpentry as part of building a set, learn about sound and light design, learn about backstage and production roles, and see the whole process from design to strike! Supervised by Resident Technical Director Richard Kiraly, this will be a hands-on theatre-resume-builder for anyone with an interest in technical theatre skills.
In this class you will learn how to read music for those interested in participating in musicals or singing anywhere. This will kick your audition up a notch as you will be better able to read music presented to you on the spot. It will also lead to a much easier task of learning your parts in a show, so that the harmonies comes quicker!
We will cover everything from basic music theory to how to find your notes on the piano. Knowing how to read music is very important if you want to be in a musical or a choir. It is also important for anyone interested in music. This is for all levels of readers. Some of this will be a review for some and brand new for others!
On the outside always looking in will I ever be... able to play that role? NO? But during Miscast Night all bets are off! Come sing roles you could never play right now!
